What kind of savings and rebates can I get from a new system?

Efficiency savings can vary between 18% to 50% depending on the existing vs. new high efficiency system options. Rebates may vary from factors: utility, state and federal, but have been up to $7,200 at times.

Why is there water under my heat pump and ice buildup in the winter?

Heat pumps have a defrost cycle and can melt frost/ice from your outdoor coil, this is important in our climate to maintain efficiency.  This process will cause water to drain from the bottom of the unit during this cycle.

Should I cover my outside unit from snowfall?

Covering your heat pump from falling snow and/or ice is important but please follow manufacturers’ specifications on clearances as improperly installed covers can cause equipment damage and lessen efficiency.

Which way does my filter go – is there a top and bottom?

Your filter should have a directional arrow that is to be placed in the direction of the airflow of your system. Proper placement assures the best performance of your filters’ ability to capture contaminants.

How often do I service my gas fireplace?

Your gas fireplace should be serviced annually to ensure it is safe and working efficiently.

Should my mini-splits be in the same mode?

Mini Splits are a great choice for zoned comfort, yet they are limited in their ability to heat and cool at the same time in different areas and in most cases can cause nuisance alerts shutting your system down and/or on standby.

Does my outside unit bring smoke in from outside while it is running? Can it be prevented?

Your outdoor condenser unit AC or Heat Pump is a closed loop refrigerant system and does not introduce outdoor air into your home or business.  However, if you have a fresh air intake (economizer) or make-up air duct to the outside, this should be disabled or closed during wildfire season.
