  • Dirty Air Filters: The air filter for your furnace is what helps circulate the air flow within your home. It also keeps your system clean and efficient. Once that is dirty or clogged, your furnace begins to overwork and eventually breaks down.
  • Normal Wear and Tear: Even a well-maintained furnace will eventually meet its maximum miles. Normal wear and tear can be mitigated with proper maintenance and timely repairs, especially if you have air flow malfunction, overheating or heat-control issues.
  • Ignition and Pilot Problems: Sometimes a faulty ignition or pilot light problem makes it hard to keep your home warm. It could be a draft, clog or thermocouple issue.
  • Furnace Heating Breakdown: A furnace that does not heat is a standard issue but fixing it might require a trained technician. The reasons for your furnace not heating can range from a thermostat issue to power problems, pilot light or electrical system failures.
  • Flower Problems: While your furnace might kick in, the warm air may not flow into your home. You may hear a blower continuously running, indicating a problem with your limit switch or the fan itself.
  • Noisy Furnace: A noisy furnace is trying to tell you something, especially if you hear squeaking, rattling, or rumbling. These sounds may indicate a clogged burner, mechanical failure or air flow problems.
  • Thermostat Malfunction: Your thermostat might not send messages to the furnace, may not maintain room temperature, and lead to fan issues. This could be an issue with the wiring from your thermostat to the unit itself, or the thermostat may have an internal failure.
  • Frequent Cycling: When your furnace frequently cycles, it wastes energy. If you hear it cycling from on to off modes, you may have a clogged filter, airflow issue, or a malfunctioning thermostat.
There are many reasons why your furnace might not be efficient or stop working entirely. Luckily, you have the team at Cascade Heating & Specialties to help you figure out what is wrong and get everything back up and running.
Call us at 541-382-8483 for a service appointment and our trained technicians can look into your furnace troubles today.

My heater is not producing enough heat. That's why I've been thinking of hiring an HVAC contractor that may fix the matter. I never knew that this matter can range from a thermostat issue or electrical system failure.

I noticed that my furnace is not producing enough heat, which is why my husband has decided to look for a construction apparel kit so he will be protected. Anyways, thank you for elaborating here that furnace breakdown may stem from electrical system failure. We'll also keep in mind to double-check if the system is producing a squeaking and rattling noise.

My sister would like to have a furnace installed in her apartment because she can no longer bear with the cold, especially during the Winter season. Well, it's a great thing that you opened up about the importance of cleaning its filters because dirty ones will clog the furnace. Thank you for also informing your readers that they must seek help from a professional service, just in case the electrical system failed.

I like what you said about how faulty ignition can lead to a thermocouple issue. I need to get an HVAC contractor to make sure that my coils aren't corroding. I'll have to consider getting a heater to make sure that our house doesn't freeze in the winter.
